X-Ray

An x-ray is a picture of the body that is done using a small amount of radiation. In urology, this test is great at looking at kidney stones and with an addition of an injectable IV dye, may also show the kidneys and the drainage tubing of kidneys. Placing a similar dye into the bladder, also allows us to see the contours of the bladder.

We use x-rays frequently to “follow” the passage of a kidney stone.

We use x-rays during treatments of kidney stones in the operating room with all types of methods.
